Ning

Once again I have signed up on another site. I registered for Classroom 2.0. I listened to the recording of the live chat introduction for Classroom 2.0 and found it very informative. Be warned.........it is long!

I am not sure how often I will participate but I think it might be something I will check in on periodically. I am waiting for approval to join Classroom 2.0 but I did look through some of the groups and will probably join a couple of them like Elementary Classroom 2.0 and some of the early childhood groups. I think I might try following a discussion thread and try adding comments.

As with everything about web 2.0 it seems overwhelming. There is a big internet world out there full of tools and resources. I think I will keep an open mind but start small with just a few of them and practice using them before I move onto other things.

Week 8/Thing #19

I was just looking at the site with Top 100 tools for Web 2.0 and I was inundated with screens but they were Internet Explorer and I was in AOL. They just kept coming and coming. There was nothing I could do but close the AOL browser down. I am not sure what happened but I am not going there again.

Week 8/Thing #20

Just finishing up the last of week 8 and then will review all the "Things". I also want to try to figure out how to send videos in emails. I used the flip camera to video the students as they did his/her presentation as a summative assessment for the last planner. I think the files may be too big but there is a converter I need to download that might help. If not I may have to go to plan B and put them a CD as an end of the year gift for each student as well as the photos that I took of him/her with his/her projects, etc.

Google Docs

Success! I emailed the survey to myself and it worked. I am really surprised how long this took to go through the steps. I only wish I had read the instructions that Michael wrote first!!!!! Lesson learned.

Thank you

After much frustration I decided to do a search on the Handouts and Respository page. I found the instructions for the forms to send out a survey. Thank you Michael. The next thing is to actually do it.

Google Docs Form

I thought Google Docs was a great idea until I sat down and tried to create a form. I am the math coach for my building and I thought it would be a fabulouse idea to send out a form to gather information and get feedback. I have been working on this thing for almost 2 hours!!!!!!!! I did create one but lost it somewhere before I had finished all the questions and I could only get to the response spreadsheet. It then magically appeared - not sure how. I then wasn't sure how to send it out to everyone................something I still haven't figured out! I am a little frustrated now but persevering!

Google Docs

I have been wanting to try to create a survey to send out to the teachers in my building to gather some data. This is the time I wish I had paid more attention in class!!!!!!! I think this is going to take longer than I thought it would.
